This charming lot features five vintage bisque porcelain figurines from the whimsical Dept. 56 Merrymakers collection, a beloved series from the 1990s known for its character-driven storytelling. The group includes "Martin the Mandolinist," capturing a moment of festive musicality, alongside "Thaddeus the Tobogganist" and a busy "Snowball Maker." These miniatures are celebrated for their soft, matte textures and the expressive, gentle faces that define the high-quality craftsmanship of 1990s Department 56 seasonal releases.
The small scale of these figurines, ranging from 2 1/2" to 3 1/2" in height, makes them incredibly versatile for styling. While they are a natural fit for a holiday village, their ivory tones and classic winter themes align beautifully with a Dark Academia aesthetic when tucked into a cozy bookshelf nook or placed under a glass cloche. This lot is being sold as a complete set of five, which includes some duplicates, perfect for creating a cohesive "troupe" across a mantle or sharing as thoughtful gifts. All five figures remain in excellent condition, retaining their delicate hand-painted details. Two of the figurines come with their original boxes, providing extra protection for this nostalgic winter ensemble.
This set is vintage, approximately 30 years old.
