Fenton Colonial Green Daisy and Button Top Hat Basket. Made between 1965-1975. Green art glass. Measures 7 1/2" in height by about 5 1/2" wide. Excellent condition.

This striking piece of Fenton art glass is a quintessential mid-century collectible, produced between 1965 and 1975. Cast in the refreshing "Colonial Green" hue, it utilizes the classic "Daisy and Button" pattern—a design that dates back to the Victorian era but was revitalized by Fenton for a modern audience. The glass is expertly molded into the whimsical shape of an upturned top hat, with the brim skillfully manipulated into a high-arched basket handle. The intricate geometric facets of the pattern create a brilliant play of light and shadow, giving the glass an almost crystalline glow when placed in a sunny window.

While the vibrant green lends itself to a lively Spring display, the heavy molding and historic pattern make it a sophisticated addition to a Dark Academia curated shelf. It serves as a beautiful vessel for holding small botanical specimens, dried moss, or even vintage fountain pens. The "Top Hat" silhouette is one of Fenton’s most recognizable and beloved shapes, representing a perfect marriage of humor and fine craftsmanship. In excellent condition, this piece remains free of chips or clouding, preserving the sharp detail of the press-molded pattern and the clarity of the Colonial Green pigment.

This item is vintage, approximately 55 years old.
