Vintage Pair of Ballerina Print Framed Wall Art. They measure about 30 1/2" by 22 3/4" each. Good condition. Small scuff on the pink print. Painted off white, yellowish wooden frame has scuffs. There is not supposed to be and there is no glass on the front. The paper backing will need to be replaced on both of them. They could stand to be further cleaned.
This pair of large-scale ballerina prints captures the mid-century fascination with classical dance and graceful, "theatrical" feminine imagery. Measuring an impressive thirty and a half inches by twenty-two and three-quarter inches each, these substantial pieces were designed to serve as a primary focal point in a 1950s or 1960s interior. The artwork features soft, gestural brushwork and a pastel palette that evokes a sense of romantic movement and elegance.
The prints are in good vintage condition, possessing a grounded character from decades of display. Notably, these were produced without glass to emphasize the texture of the print, a common stylistic choice for larger mid-century wall decor. The pink-toned print shows a small, localized scuff, and the wooden frames—painted in an aged off-white with yellow undertones—exhibit honest wear and surface scuffs. Both pieces would benefit from a gentle further cleaning to fully refresh their vintage luster. The paper backings have aged and will require replacement for future preservation. This set is a perfect find for those curating a grand-scale nursery, a dance studio, or a Mid-Century Modern home looking for authentic, large-format period art.
This set is vintage, approximately 65 years old.
