Bring mid-century elegance to your table with this coordinated set of hand-wrought hammered aluminum serving pieces. Popular from the 1930s through the 1950s, this type of metalware was often referred to as "poor man's silver" because it offered a sophisticated look that was lightweight, durable, and never required polishing.

This set includes:

1. Floral Serving Basket: Measures 5 3/4" in height (including the arched handle) and 8" wide. It features a ruffled edge and a beautiful embossed pattern of blossoms and leaves.
2. Designed Aluminum Plate: A matching 9" diameter plate that perfectly complements the basket with its own intricate floral relief and scalloped border.

Both pieces are in very good vintage condition, retaining their soft, burnished glow. While they show minor surface scratches consistent with decades of use at backyard barbecues or holiday gatherings, they remain solid and functional. These versatile items are traditionally used for serving bread, rolls, or candies, but they also make stunning decorative centerpieces or a unique 10th-anniversary gift (the traditional year for aluminum).

These items are vintage, approximately 70 years old. While they appear to be in very good condition, there is the possibility I may have missed a minor detail. In the unlikely event I missed a major flaw I would reach out prior to sending it.
