This charming mid-century planter by Royal Copley captures the whimsical "Orientalia" trend popular in American decorative arts during the 1940s and 50s. The figure features a joyful expression with rosy cheeks and a high-gloss glaze that brings out the vibrant primary colors. Collectors can choose between two distinct colorways: a serene sky blue hat or a deeper, regal indigo that leans toward a purplish hue. Each piece is crafted with the substantial ceramic weight typical of Royal Copley, featuring a hollow interior perfect for small succulents or air plants.

Both measure about 7.5" in height by 4.5" total width. Choose between lighter blue and darker blue, almost purple hat. They both have a little crazing but otherwise very good condition.

While both figures exhibit the delicate, fine-lined crazing often found in vintage pottery of this era, they remain in very good structural condition with no major chips. These planters look exceptionally striking when styled as a pair on a sunlit windowsill or a Mid-Century Modern credenza. They add a playful, storied touch to a kitchen herb garden or can even serve as a unique vessel for holding brushes or pens in a creative workspace.

These items are vintage, approximately 75 years old. All measurements are close but approximate. I measure in quarter inches.
