Vintage Royal Copley Lady Head Wall Pocket Planters. They each measure about 7" in height by 5" across at the top. Ceramic. Good condition. Both have some crazing.

This striking pair of Royal Copley lady head wall pockets is a quintessential example of 1950s Americana kitsch. Produced by the Spaulding China Company in Sebring, Ohio, these 7-inch ceramic figures were designed to bring "gift shop quality" to the mid-century home. Each piece features a stylized female bust with an elegant, serene expression, often accented by molded details such as bonnets or collars. These "wall pockets" were a favorite for holding small trailing ivy or dried floral arrangements, adding a touch of glamorous, hand-painted charm to kitchen walls or hallways.

Both planters are in good vintage condition, retaining their vibrant, glossy glazes and the soft airbrushed highlights that define the Royal Copley brand. As is common with Ohio art pottery of this era, both pieces exhibit fine crazing across the surface. This delicate network of lines under the glaze is a natural result of the aging process and serves as an authentic marker of their seventy-year history. The structural integrity remains sound, and the flat backs are perfectly suited for flush wall mounting. Whether displayed as a coordinated pair or flanking a vintage mirror, these lady heads are iconic collectibles that perfectly capture the optimistic aesthetic of the post-war era.

This set is vintage, approximately 75 years old. All measurements are close but approximate. I measure in quarter inches.
